Bhola cyclone cyclone that hit East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) on 12 November, 1970. That is a cyclonic storm with the most deathsever occurred, and one of the Deadliest natural disaster in moderntimes. Up to 500,000 people lost their lives in storms, especiallystorms caused flooding that hit much lower than the Ganges Deltaislands. Pakistan government has been criticized for the handling ofgreat relief operations following the storm, both by local politicalleaders in East Pakistan and the international media.
storm intensified into a severe cyclonic storm on 11 November, andbegan to turn to the northeast as it nears the head of the bay. A clear eye formed in the storm, and had reached its peak later todaywith sustained winds of 185 km / h (115 mph).
