MOSCOW (Reuters) - Space Debris wastethrough the International Space Station (ISS) onSaturday, forcing the crew to evacuate the rescue plane, according to the National Aeronautics andSpace Agency (NASA).
Debris "safely pass in front of the ISS", explainsthat the U.S. space agency in the social networking Twitter, reports RIA Novosti.
A total of six crew members were told it's safe toreturn to normal duties.
NASA describes the waste is a residual militarycommunications satellite collision Comsos 2251Russia's already not working with a commercialIridium spacecraft belonging to the U.S. inFebruary 2009.
Meanwhile, the Soyuz spacecraft is used to transport crew to and from ISS 'mission endedwell for normal as well as a rescue plane, "explained NASA.
Before entering into the capsule, the crew -consisting of two Americans, three Russians andDutch astronaut - all hatch cover on the ISS.
NASA earlier said it expected to pass through the debris with a distance of 14.8 kilometers ISSunderneath.
This is the third time the crew was asked to do the same procedure related a similar incident in 2009and 2011. (B019)
